NS seeks suppliers for the delivery of Monobloc wheels for its train types SLT (Desiro platform train) and FLIRT. NS intends to award the contract to the 2 tenderers that submitted the best tenders ranked on a price-quality ratio. The contract (i.e. total demand for Monobloc wheels) will then be allocated to the 2 suppliers as follows: 60 percent to the highest-ranked tenderer and 40 percent to the tenderer that submitted the second-best offer.

At the moment most of the trains of NS (Dutch Railways) are equipped with tyred wheels.
NS has decided to replace these tyred wheels by monobloc wheels for these types of Trains.
