The control of the gas turbine is provided by a GE Mark V TCS. Visualisation is via a single HMI operator station running GE Simplicity version 5.5 under Windows 2000. On our Uniper Benelux (UBX) location RoCa3 at Rotterdam we have stationed a Frame9/E gas turbine with generator. In 2023 there is a change from Low Caloric Gas to High Caloric Gas planned for the unit. Instead of only changing the fuel nozzles we want to prepare the unit for the future with emission reduction and the possibility to run partly on Hydrogen. 2021-06-25RoCa3 Contronic E Migration (Uniper Benelux N.V.)
The goal of this project is to replace the old out of lifetime distributed control system (DCS) Contronic E (H&B) with the belonging Operator IT (OIT from ABB) HMI system with a new total safety-integrated process control system in order to be well positioned for the future next 25 years in terms of technology, service and support. Copy the current control strategy from Contronic E to the new DCS, the new DCS system has to be on the same level of automation as it is currently or better.
