Europol is regularly requested by countries all over the world to carry out technical and forensic examinations on euro banknotes suspected to be counterfeit. In order to carry out a full comprehensive technical/forensic report a device is required which can create an image (photo) of magnetic features of euro banknotes that can be compared with a genuine reference sample. The device should be able to obtain ink patterns of banknotes (in particular euros) and other secure documents.
