In March 2024, the Board of Directors decided to set a minimum price for CO2 compensation certificates at €25/ton CO2 and to increase the annual budget for compensation of Scope 1 & 2, (direct emissions) van TNO (effective from 2024). TNO is entitled, but not obliged, to unilaterally extend the Contract without changing the terms and conditions by three (3) periods of, two (2) years, effective December 2026,2028, 2030.
Not later than three (3) months before the expiry of the Contract, including any period by which it has been extended, TNO will inform the Contractor whether TNO wishes to extend the Contract. If TNO does not extend the term, the term shall expire by operation of law.
The maximum term of the Contract will therefore not exceed eight (8) years and will expire by operation of law not later than January 2024.
