Energie Beheer Nederland B.V. (EBN) is wholly owned by the Dutch state. EBN execute parts of the climate and energy policy made by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (EZK). Until 2016 EBN focused primarily on the exploration, production and storage of oil and gas where EBN has and continues to be a non-operating (silent) partner in almost all oil- and gas projects both onshore and offshore in The Netherlands.

Since 2016, EBN has increasingly focused and is a driving force in the energy transition in the Netherlands. EBN has in-depth knowledge of the Dutch subsurface and plays a key role in connecting private and public parties in the energy sector. Going forward, such co-operation will continue to be of immense importance if we are to meet our collective climate ambitions.

Participations

EBN is involved as a non-operating partner in almost all oil and gas projects in the Netherlands. Our stake in these activities ranges from 40 percent to 50 percent. The proceeds of this benefit the treasury and therefore Dutch society directly.

Activities

- Identifying geological energy sources and making safe, sustainable and optimal use of them;

- Investing in the reuse or dismantling of old pipelines, wells and platforms;

- Develop, apply and share knowledge of geological energy sources and new applications of the Dutch subsurface;

- Connecting public and private parties in the energy sector;

- Manage participations in oil and gas assets.

EBN has three strategic priorities to make its contribution to the energy transition of the Netherlands:

Duur: 48 maanden
Beschrijving van de verlengingen:

EBN has the possibility unilaterally and several times to extend the agreement if the project so requires. This to be determined no later than 6 months prior to the end of the prevailing CONTRACT duration.
