Shaping/Polishing of Silicon Optics

Maastricht University (UM) is known in the Netherlands and abroad for its unique education system: problem-based learning (PGO). UM also distinguishes itself by its strong international orientation. More information on UM can be found on the internetsite www.maastrichtuniversity.nl.
UM has purchased silicon material blanks for these optics and is now intending to purchase optical processing (shaping and polishing) of these blanks. ETpathfinder is a cryogenic interferometer testbed for technologies of future gravitational-wave detectors. The main optics of the ETpathfinder interferometer, here referred to as "test masses", are to be made from crystalline silicon and must be shaped and polished according to stringent requirements.
The purpose of this Tender Procedure is European Tender to enter into an Agreement with one party.
