Within the first-five years upon the purchase of the sequencer, it will be only used for the ERC-StG fully funded projects led by Dr. Pingtao Ding and his team at IBL (the DING lab thereafter).

Next-generation sequencing (NGS) is a versatile technology that is intensely used in multiple applications for both fundamental and applied agriculture-related research in the DING lab. The DING lab was led by Dr. Pingtao Ding since 2021, and his lab is particularly interested in understanding the transcriptional regulatory mechanisms underlying plant-microbe interactions, and he is a pioneering early-career tenure-track assistant professor on applying systems biology approaches in studying plant innate immunity.

To ensure a sufficient quality and reliability of the sequencing chemistry and signal detectors, this tender request is restricted to suppliers who can demonstrate a sufficient competence in manufacturing and installing sequencer server as well as a compatible data managing system with the proposed sequencer from the same supplier.

Suppliers must have a service organization with a short response time (can be both online support if it is sufficient and local service with a radius within 500km if it can’t be resolved online), max. 2 days, in case of down time.
