Services are required from late summer 2021 for an initial 1 year term with possible annual extensions up to a total term of 3 years, contracted as call off contracts with bidders who are awarded framework agreements as result of this tender exercise.

Géant anticipates that IP Transit services will be provided by a range of ISPs, to a max of 5 per location (as stated in the tender documents), which will each offer multiple high speed inter-connections across Europe for exchanging the traffic with the NRENs. Awards will be determined on basis of highest scores achieved on a per pop basis.

Some of the inter-connections will be direct with the NRENs with the highest traffic levels and the remainder of the NRENs will be connected to the ISPs via aggregation points on the GÉANT pan European network.
