One of the HVC shareholding waterboards has indicated that they will shut down their sludge drying facility in order to reduce their consumption of natural gas. In order to achieve this HVC and their share holder have indicated to develop a new sludge drying facility on the HVC waste incineration plant premises in Alkmaar. The facility will be drying the sludge with heat from the waste incineration plant. Sludge will be dried in this new facility from begin 2022.

With regret we inform that HVC has decided to cancel and withdraw the current public tender procedure for the Design, construct and installation sludge belt drying plant in Alkmaar, The Netherlands, with reference number: 2019-214925. TED reference: 2019/S 118-288707.

The reason for the withdrawal is the result of a significant change in scope, specifications and hence tender strategy. Taking into consideration the Dutch Public Procurement Act the changes imply a significant change which supports our decision to cancel this procedure.

The planning for the new procedure is not precisely known yet. Currently the scope is being determined in more detail, for now we can share that we most likely tender for one lot (turn-key) and possibly a modular or larger capacity request. Other technical parameters are under further investigation. Once the updated request is defined a publication on TED will follow.
