Qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate significant recent experience in helping to implement integrated systems incorporating the above-mentioned systems and technologies. The specific services envisaged include:

“— advising Pallas on the “state of the art” with respect to the abovementioned systems and technologies,”

“— helping Pallas to determine the overall architecture, data model, processes and conventions for the future system,”

“— assessing the existing systems of Pallas and its contractors and developing a roadmap to implement the future system,”

“— developing detailed requirements and specifications for the individual system components,”

“— assisting with the procurement and selection of software vendors to implement the necessary components,”

“— co-ordinating the implementation of the various components to ensure integration and compliance with the overall vision, and”

“— assisting Pallas with the exploitation of the system including the conduct of simulations for design optimisation.”

Pallas expects to agree a framework contract in which the specific activities to be conducted are agreed as a series of work packages developed over the project lifecycle. This approach extends to the systems and infrastructure that supports the organisation and must be well understood by the successful candidate. Thus, qualified candidates will be able to demonstrate a track record in the nuclear field (research, power or military applications are all acceptable). Pallas also has a preference for a candidate with experience of new-build facilities.
