Background
In March 2015 Prof. Claes de Vreese (Amsterdam School of Communication Research) received a Consolidator Grant from the European Research Council (ERC). Consolidator Grants provide funding for research projects that enable a researcher to develop as an independent research leader. Established by the European Union (EU) in 2007, the ERC focuses on financing ground-breaking research. Prof. De Vreese received the grant for his project entitled ‘EUROPINIONS: Causes and Consequences of Change in Public Opinion about Europe’.

General description of the content of the service
The research project EUROPINIONS aims to track the dynamics of and developments in citizens' political and EU attitudes leading up to the May 2019 EP elections.
This is done by collecting panel survey data, supplemented in specific cases with additional data collected by (short) mobile flash surveys and information about respondents' actual online behaviour.
