KNMI intends to enlarge its current operational weather and climate forecasting computing environment over a 5-year period commencing in Q2-2017, beginning with the acquisition of services fulfilling the needs specified in this Rfl. The requested supercomputer is to replace the present installation of a Bull BullX B500 cluster with 396 nodes.The various types of services required are as follows:Lot 1 High Performance computing facilities for operational weather forecasting (NWP).Running operational NWP models HirLAM & Harmonie Running in house developed applications in C, C++, Fortran etc.Facilitating Acceptance environment NWP models.Lot 2 High Performance computing facilities for climate research and NWP development.a. Running EC-Earth & H-clim and RACMO models Running in house developed applications in C, C++, Fortran etc.b. Facilitating Development and Test environment for NWP models Fall-back environment for operational NWP runs.Lot 3 Test environment.Facilitating a test environment for firmware, OS and compilers upgrades Collection, processing and distribution of data will be the scope of this environment.Because of the relation between the various lots, it is not possible to tender for lots separately.Due to runtime characteristics, the workload can be split into 2 parts. Short-time-critical applications that run for minutes to hours (production). These applications normally run in tight schedules all through the day and have fixed completion times. And Long-time-critical applications that typically run for several days to months (development and research).The High Performance computing and storage facilities for Lot 1 and Lot 2 which meet all mandatory requirements of the RfP is further revered to as the System.0

You show by means of 1 reference project that you have experience with the delivery, implementation and maintenance of a High Performance Computing environments. The project has at least the following minimal requirements:
— Scope is delivery, implementation and maintenance;
— On site system administration;
— Time critical workload;
— Minimal 200 TF peak performance;
— At least 250 TB high performance storage.
You show by means of 1 reference project that you have experience with the delivery, implementation and maintenance of a High Performance Computing environments to a meteorological institute. The project has at least the following minimal requirements:
