Supply of displacement, pressure and load sensors including controllers for the Amalia Laboratory plus calibration and maintenance of the existing and new equipment at the Amalia Laboratory of the JRC-IET
The Institute for Energy and Transport (IET) is one of the 7 institutes of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission (EC). The IET Petten site is located in the Netherlands, 16 km north of Alkmaar.
It provides scientific and technical support to different stages of European policy-making in the energy area, on issues related to environmental protection, safety and security of the citizens, and sustainable development. The Institute provides scientific and technological contributions where a European perspective and independence of commercial and national interests are essential.
At the Amalia Laboratory the IET is performing ‘Environmentally assisted cracking tests’ in environments simulating conditions of light water reactors (LWRs) and supercritical water reactors (SCWRs).
The JRC-IET intends to award a framework contract (hereinafter ‘the contract’) concerning procurement, provision of spare parts as well as corrective and preventive maintenance of:
— linear variable differential transformers (LVDTs) for the measurement of linear displacement under temperatures up to 600 ºC and pressures of 250 bar. The test environment where the LVDTs will be used is water and/or supercritical water,
— pressure transducers for water and gases,
— load cells,
— electronic controllers suitable for new LVDTs, pressure transducers and load cells as well as for the existing LVDTs and pressure transducers,
— calibration and maintenance including certificates of the sensors and the controllers.
