Supply of combined autoclave and mechanical testing equipment with connection to the water chemistry loop at the Amalia laboratory of the JRC-IET Petten
The Institute for Energy and Transport (IET) is one of the 7 institutes of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission (EC) and it is located in Petten, Netherlands.
It provides scientific and technical support to different stages of European policy-making in the energy area, on issues related to environmental protection, safety and security of the citizens, and sustainable development. The Institute provides scientific and technological contributions where a European perspective and independence of commercial and national interests are essential.
The Institute for Energy and Transport is planning to purchase a facility for mechanical testing under light water reactor (LWR) environmental conditions. This facility shall consist of an autoclave with up to 4 ± 25 kN tension/compression computer-controlled, electromechanically operated loading devices (also referred to as ‘the equipment’) for:
a) constant load tensile;
b) slow strain-rate tensile; and
c) low-cycle fatigue testing.
Moreover, the direct current potential drop (DCPD) system for online ‘in situ’ crack growth rate measurement shall be delivered together with the autoclave. The guarantee and provision of maintenance services form the scope of this call.
