PALLAS intends to award an EPCM contract to the selected Designer of the Nuclear Island (DNI) covering the design, procurement and construction of the Nuclear Island. As an EPCM Contractor, the DNI will: (a) take responsibility for the provision of engineering and design services (E); (b) procure contracts with suppliers and contractors as the owner's agent (P); (c) manage, supervise and coordinate all suppliers and contractors as the owner's representative (CM). Based on the timing of the DNI selection process, PALLAS anticipates that there will be changes occurring after the issue of the Invitation to Tender (ITT) due to licensing requirements,business case development, financing requirements and subsequent changes in technical requirements. The EPCM contract awarded will not be a fixed price contract. As the project proceeds, fixed prices will be agreed for packages of work and supply as EN Standard form 02 — Contract notice 5 / 16 specifications are finalised. Eventually it would be possible to convert the DNI contract to an EPC Contract, once licensing has been completed and the design basis finalised. The conversion may include the addition of other parties into the EPC Contract.
