Scope for Contactless Paper Tickets (CT's).
Below the key points concerning the scope of this tender are listed.
The tender concerns both blank(Unloaded) paper CT's (which will be finalized and loaded in the ticketing machines) as preloaded paper CT's (which are used for promotional events);
The CT's need to be smart cards and therefor contain a chip(certified by TLS, at this moment Mifare), magnetics are excluded;
Suppliers are required to be qualified and certified by the OV-chipkaart Scheme Provider Trans Link Systems (TLS). This is a process in which the card producer directly deals with TLS. The qualification process (two to four weeks) involves the providing of some basic information about the company's track record, amongst other things. The certification process (4 to 6 months) involves that CT's are loaded conform specifications provided by TLS, which includes workshops and testing and analysis trajectories;
The estimated total amount of required CT's is 7 million on a yearly basis (6 million blank and 1 million pre-loaded);
The release date for CT's in ticketing machines and offices is aimed for the end of the 4th quarter 2013 or the beginning of 2014;
Optional the delivery of blank receipt paper for Ticket Vending Machine.
"NS" intends to conclude an agreement for 3 years with 2 times a 2 year extention, with one supplier who is capable of delivering the required CT's.
