High Resolution MALDI-ToF mass spectrometer

The MALDI ToF MS instrument should be fully capable of determining molecular weights of ions with extremely high level of confidence ranging from small synthetic molecules to polymers and proteins. It is able to provide accurate mass measurements with mass accuracy of < 2 ppm using internal calibration and < 10 ppm using external calibration. It offers high resolution power (> 26, 000) in order to verify whether there are other interfering species at the nominal m/z of the analyte. The instrument is highly sensitive and can perform MS imaging. The laser source can be operated with adjustable repetition rates of up to 1000 Hz. The MALDI system can be upgraded in the future to include ToF/ToF if necessary. Furthermore, it consists of powerful and user-friendly software tools for protein and synthetic polymer analysis.
